Will Austin Scarlett be Reborn?
Inside TV, a new magazine about - you guessed it - TV, reported this week that my favorite "Project Runway" designer, Austin Scarlett, was helping to judge contestant's portfolios in New York City for the upcoming season two of "Project Runway." Does this mean dear Austin will be appearing in the second season of "PJ?" Darlings, I've got a call into my contacts at Bravo and will give you the dish as soon as I'm able. (Dear Austin has been traveling off continent but I'm trying to wrangle a follow-up interview. Those publicists at Bravo are a bitch to track down!) Yes, winning designer Jay McCarroll was on-hand to judge as well, and I'd be surprised if they didn't feature him heavily in the second season. (No pun intended, of course. Just because Jay blew-off an interview with the Nelly is no reason to call him names like "Fatty-Mc-Fat-Fat-Whore") Hey, Bravo knows a good thing when it sees it, and Austin is a boon for ratings gold!
And no, I don't want to talk about "Survivor: Palau" my pets - I haven't had a chance to watch it as I was away last night...hope to catch up on this sometime today or tomorrow. Don't queer the deal for me, people!
What's on Tonight?
It's Friday and The Telly Nelly is off to a fancy movie screening...ah, the life of a Y-list celebrity - how I'm spoiled. But if you're going to be at home on the couch, here's what I suggest you watch!
Hairstyling Homos take on Dallas debutantes on tonight's episode of "Sheer Dallas" on The Learning Channel (TLC) at 10 p.m.
"A Mighty Wind," that charming folk-send up flick brought to you by the creators of "Waiting for Guffman" and "Best in Show" will be shown today at 5:30 p.m. on HBO. Look for a surprise gender-bender in the last inning.
One of my favorite movies, "LadyHawke" will be airing on WMAX tonight at 8 p.m. and stars the deliciously spunky Matthew Broderick and the meow-mixin' Michelle Pfeiffer. No, they're not gay. But this movie will make you wish they were. (Hey, there's still time.) Oh yes, Rutger Hauer's in it to...but who cares?
For those of you wanting more substance, check out The Divine Miss M, Bette Midler, on "Biography" at 11 p.m. on the Arts & Entertainment Network (A&E). Like you, she got her start in the dirty, dirty, gay bath houses. Tres Gay!
And welcome back to Mr. Gay TV Icon, Spongebob Squarepants, who begins his (its?) trimphant fourth season tonight at 8:30 p.m. on Nickelodeon. In tonight's two-part episode, Spongebob is abducted by terrorists, must diffuse a 20 megaton nuclear device and has oral sex with "Alias" star Jennifer Garner. (Or was that the plot of last week's "24?" I always get those two shows confused...)
